What do I do if I find an orphaned or injured animal?

Place the animal in a secure container - box with lid that allows air flow or animal carrier - with a t-shirt, fleece blanket or towel. If possible, place a heating pad or hot hands under the animal. Immediately contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in your area. Do not give food or water to the animal until you are instructed to do so by a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.

Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitators can be found at your state wildlife agency or at Animal Help Now's website:  ahnow.org
